The soft washing process is a gentle and effective method for cleaning a home's exterior. Home Soft Wash applies cleaning solutions designed to break down dirt, mold, and stains, allowing the solution to work, and then rinsing the surfaces with low-pressure water. Soft Washing/low pressure defined as under 100 psi. High pressure/power washing is typically over 2000 psi and up to 4000psi.

Soft washing employs low-pressure water and specialized solutions to gently clean delicate surfaces like houses, preventing damage while removing dirt and organic growth. Pressure washing, using high-pressure water, is better for tougher surfaces like driveways. Soft washing is ideal for maintaining the appearance and integrity of your home's exterior, while pressure washing is suited for more robust cleaning tasks.

In general, a properly conducted soft wash can provide noticeable results that last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. However, areas with high humidity, frequent rainfall, or significant shade might require more frequent soft washing due to the quicker re-growth of mold and algae. The duration of the effects of a soft wash on a house can vary based on factors such as the local environment, weather conditions, and the extent of organic growth in the area.

While soft washing solutions are generally designed to be safe for plants, bleach, if not properly diluted or managed, can potentially harm vegetation. To ensure plant safety during soft washing, Home Soft Wash understands the proper application and can take precautions to protect your landscaping.

The soft washing process, and I am going to be blunt and not be cryptic about what chemicals are used; bleach, detergent and water, that's it. The detergent does not do any of the cleaning, it is simply used as a surfactant to keep the bleach on the house.

Soft washing, when done correctly, should not remove deck paint. Home Soft Wash understands the importance of using the right techniques and solutions to prevent damage to surfaces. However, if your deck paint is already in a compromised condition, such as peeling or flaking, there might be a risk of further damage during the soft washing process.

Home Soft Wash cleans roofs according to the shingle manufacturer's recommendations. (Never allow any high-pressure cleaning on your roof, or risk nulling your guarantee from the shingle manufacturer.) To kill the gloeocapsa magma black streaks, moss and lichen, the concentration needs to be higher than a typical house wash solution. Because of the higher concentration, Home Soft Wash pre wets the landscaping, collects any runoff into bags attached to the gutters, covers any sensitive plants and has a team member constantly watering as another team member applies the solution onto the roof. The solution will continue to kill the organic growth for a period of time or until the next rainfall. The black streaks will be eliminated almost immediately, with moss and lichen taking up to 6-8 weeks to naturally dissolve. At Home Soft Wash, we come back in 2-4 weeks to check for any stubborn spots that may need another application, at no charge. We offer a 3-year guarantee, that if any organic growth comes back, we will treat that area free of charge within that 3-year window.

Home Soft Wash decided to invest in the top-of-the-line exterior window cleaning system years ago. We use a purified water system that leaves no streaks or spots. All the work is done from the ground, using a water fed pole system, providing a superior clean compared to a soap and squeegee application, plus providing a safer alternative from employees climbing ladders for 2nd and 3rd story windows.
